There is a Droid update going around to improve support for the FACEBOOK app in the marketplace. That’s about it, Android 2.1 should be on the way as promise by Motorola. The update will come over the air.





What is Google’s Android?

Google’s Android is an operating system like Windows 7 or Mac OS X but for your cellphone. Their are many phones that run this operating system in the USA just look for the “with Google”.  The screen may look different but its all the same thing.

All of those devices runs Google Android and have Wi-Fi. The operating systems features a touch screen and the Android Marketplace which is just like the Apple iPhone Application Store but less applications.

When using one of these devices it acts like a Windows computer with an application launcher, desktop style interface, widgets, and there is even a task manger for applications. The interface on the iPhone is more user friendly for people using a smartphone for the first time. Here is an example of the interface.





What is the Nexus One?

The Nexus One is a Smartphone created by Google running a mobile platform called Android. If you heard of the Droid its like the same style but no slider keyboard and the newest version of Android.

The interface of the phone is just like a PC: application launcher, desktops, widgets, and application market. Other mobile phone has a better user interface for a first Smartphone users. The Nexus cost over $500 unlocked for ATT with 3G and $179 with T-Mobile.

The Next Version of Android, 2.2 maybe?

The next version of Android will be called Fr0yo – “frozen yogurt” says Erick Tseng the leader of the Android Team on Google. The recent android version 2.1 was release at CES by Google alone with the Nexus One.  Google always like  brand their names on a new device with the latest version of Android like the Motorola Droid with 2.0.  Nexus Two anyone?
